WHOVILLE TRIUMPANT
Yeah, well . . . all of a sudden a thought popped into my head that maybe we should take a leaf out of some of our beloved Dr. Suess stories. Instead of complaining and getting hysterical about whomever is doing whatever to whomever, etc., and instead of chasing after a kind of "grinch" to get back all He is stealing or has stollen . . . that we might try just going about our business doing whatever loving, good, kind, merciful activities it takes to help people.
I'm not taking anything that is happening lightly, and with the help of God Who IS Love, we need to keep working against injustice and subgation; violence and the threat of violence; intolerance and all kinds of evil. I just know that we must continue to join together and identify with "the least, the last and the lost" and become one of them to lead us all out of the turmoil and to lead us to true shalom peace -- without illness, without hunger, without the need for possessions; WITH joy; WITH peace; WITH nurture, WITH mercy, With tenderness.
[For any of you Who(s) who have not read the books, and/or who have not seen the cartoon specials and movies, etc., the scene I am thinking of is the one where the Grinch and his sad abused little dog have stolen all the Christmas decorations and the Christmas feasts from all the Who(s) in Whoville.
Hoping to spoil Christmas for every inhabitant of Whoville, the Grinch has totally misunderstood that the decorations and all that makes up the physical component of the blessed holy day are just outward signs of an inward and spiritual reality. The inhabitants of Whoville carry on singing and celebrating the birth of Light and Life and Love in Jesus the Christ instead of wailing and gnashing their teeth and/or going out for revenge.
We can do that.
We can keep on keepin' on by actively passing on the Light of all Lights.
We can proclaim what kind of Who each one of us is . . . Reaching out to those in need and actively BEING the Light and Life and Love that surrounds us and that has been planted in our hearts.
I'm not saying that actively being the Light, the Life and Love is, was or ever will be easy.
I'm just saying we can do this.
Why not?
❤️❤️❤️
