THEY ARE NOT JUST RACISTS AND MISOGYNISTS

When I was watching the speeches from the Women's Marches yesterday, I started crying several times because of how the speakers touched on painful parts of my life and the lives of some of my dearest friends and because of how this new administration is so unbelievably dangerous to so many people, to our nation and to the world.
And you know . . . still . . . people I love and respect and care about continue to say, "Give him a chance," and voted for him and the other Republicans that have taken over Congress and I just don't understand them. It is sickening.
And especially those who claim to believe in Jesus and use the Bible to keep people down and are intolerant of any other interpretation of it than their own. They totally skip the verse that says, "God is Love." They totally leave out the understanding that when the Bible talks about men using men for sex it is talking about abuse and heinous acts against people, NOT about people who decide to live in committed loving relationships with one another. They act like a woman's body is not her own and believe that the State has a right to tell women what to do and not do with their own bodies.
They are not just men and women who hate anyone who is not white and who hate and disrespect women. They also feel the need to afflict people with their own beliefs that only white people belong in America and totally twist the intentions of our Founders and completely misunderstand the reasons for the necessity they felt when writing down and voting for the Bill of Rights, especially the right to bear arms.
They are not just racists and misogynists. They are sadly deluded and selfish, greedy and overbearing. They want to keep people from having access to health care and they don't believe in equal pay for the same work, And it's just too sad.
So, I was really glad that the protestors marched all over the world and especially in many of our nation's state capital cities and other major cities. The evil that is represented by the racists and misogynists must be worked against and must not be what our nation is known for in the world.
We are a nation of immigrants and our Founders wanted to welcome people from all over the world, even though they also bowed down to the racists and slaveholders that resulted four score and seven years ago later in the devastation of our Civil War.
Sadly, evil has to be fought against . . . continually and every time it has been hosted by people like the racists and misogynists and those who fight against the love of LGBT people have a right to share their lives, and those who hate immigrants who only come here to find the same opportunities our forbears were seeking -- ALL of us, except the descendants of indigenous peoples and the descendants of slaves who were brought here in chains are descendants of immigrants.
Yes . . . we have our work cut out for us because they are not just racists and misogynists. They are now in power here and can wreak so much damage. There is so much to do to keep them from doing what they intend to do.
We have our work cut out for us, because if we don't we can no longer claim that we believe in the liberty, freedoms and opportunity that white people take for granted and that our Founders wanted for all free men at the time and that we know that God wants for every human being.
