" . . .with all you have done for me! I sing for joy because of what you have done." [Psalm 92:4 (NLT)]
This passage reminds me of " . . . the joy of the Lord is your strength," from Nehemiah 8:10 (NRSV).
Nehemiah and the faithful of the Lord had rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem after the Babylonian captivity. And then when the Temple was rebuilt and dedicated, Ezrz, the teacher of the Law read from the Torah scrolls that had been recovered and a new generation heard the words God had spoken to Moses in a way they had not known while growing up in a strange land without the Temple where Yahweh abided with their ancestors.
The thrill of knowing God and walking with Him is beyond measure the greatest joy, because within this joy are all other joys of love and life as human beings -- the joys of growing up secure with loving parents, the joys of the love and life with siblings, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, the joys of being with friends and living in safety and security.
All these joys and more are part of the joy of the Lord as we move from childhood into maturity and have other joys of a spouse and children -- or joys we experience just because of who we are and the ways we know, serve and worship the Lord. We also take joy in the work we are able to do, the service we are able to do for others.
The Lord is so good and so faithful. He takes joy in us, too. He delights in you and is always hoping you will allow Him to reveal Himself to you and that you will trust Him to provide for you, guard you, guide you and bless you. The Holy Spirit is waiting for you to answer the Lord's call so that he can reveal Jesus to you. If you have never given Him a chance, I hope you will today, right now.
If you have any questions, I am always happy to help with the Lord's guidance.
May the Lord continue to bless and keep you and all those you love, today and always.
