COME SATURDAY MORNINGS

Sometimes it would be like this . . . my brother George, my sister Jenny and I would still be in our pjs on a Saturday morning and there would be a show on WGN TV in Chicago . . . and Ray Raynor or Frazier Thomas or someone would talk about what was going on that weekend.

The plate twirlers and the dog act from the Shriner Circus would be shown, and before we knew it our sweet aunts Millie, Katie and Annie would have called up our parents and told them that they wanted to take us . . . where?  Yes, you guess it! To the Shriner Circus!! And we would get to see who and what we had seen on television in person.

And I loved horses a LOT, so one of my favorite things they took us to was The Lippazaners . . .

FANTastic! What an amazing childhood we had with such wonderful parents, grand parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, neighbors, teachers, adults who were the sponsors of clubs, scout leaders, et al.

We were sooooo blessed and I am grateful to the Lord for all of them-- for the good times and for the difficult times when we all helped on another.
